Dear Reader,
Tulsi Gabbard, the former Democratic congresswoman who has made a career out of rattling the cages of the political establishment, now finds herself on the TSA’s watchlist.
Yes, you read that right—Gabbard, the Iraq War veteran and Army reservist who stood up to Kamala Harris during the 2020 presidential primary, is now apparently a national security threat. How convenient.
According to journalist Matt Taibbi, Gabbard and her husband have been slapped with the dreaded “SSSS” designation on their boarding passes—a bureaucratic code for “we’re going to make your life miserable at the airport.”
This means she’s subjected to “random” searches that are about as random as a Hollywood sequel, complete with a small army of TSA agents, bomb-sniffing dogs, and air marshals following her every move.
A Soldier in the Crosshairs
Now, picture this: Gabbard, who signed up to defend her country after 9/11, getting flagged as a potential threat by the very government she served. A TSA agent, baffled by the sight of her military ID and her Quad S status, asked, “Why are you Quad S? You’re in the military.” Gabbard’s response? “That’s exactly what I’m wondering.” Gee, maybe it has something to do with her not towing the party line.
The Silent War on Dissent
Gabbard isn’t the first, and she certainly won’t be the last. She pointed out how documents from a now-defunct Homeland Intelligence Experts Group—led by none other than former CIA Director John Brennan—listed support for Donald Trump, military service, and even religious practice as “indicators for extremism or terrorism.” You can’t make this stuff up.
So, while Gabbard wasn’t at the Capitol on January 6th, she still ended up on the TSA’s radar, thanks to their “Quiet Skies” program. Because why bother with due process when you can just quietly label someone a threat and hope no one notices?
