Dear Reader,
We learn that the former president, Biden, is stricken with advanced cancer of the prostate gland.
The malignancy has taken to the warpath… and invaded the body’s skeletal housing.
Alas, the prognosis is grim. I nonetheless extend the previous president my sincerest wishes.
Yet I understand this particular cancer expands at a glacier’s pace.
It is therefore possible that the fellow was cancerous while president.
Is not a United States president the subject of regular medical examination?
How, then, did the affliction escape his physicians’ notice?
Hmmm…
Here CBS News hazards an answer:
- Biden, who is now 82, did not undergo prostate cancer screening during his last medical checkup while in office, in February 2024, according to records released at the time. Experts say this is likely due to the fact that these screenings are not routinely recommended for men 70 years or older.
- “Doctors will stop screening for prostate cancer at 75 or so, because after that, the prostate cancers you typically pick up are very slow growing, and so the harms of all of the testing and treatment for something that may not kill you — you’re talking about risk versus benefit. It may not be worth the risk,” Dr. Céline Gounder, CBS News medical contributor and editor-at-large for public health at KFF Health News, explained on “CBS Mornings” Monday.
Just so. Yet by all accounts the prior administration was a very secretive bunch.
You could not rely upon it for truth.
Who Knew What, and When Did They Know It?
That administration took fantastic measures to conceal Mr. Biden’s cognitive deterioration from public exposition.
Perhaps the same administration strove to conceal his physical deterioration from public view.
I simply do not know. Yet deterioration is deterioration. And so a question surfaces:
Who was in command at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue during Mr. Biden’s tenure?
Again, I do not know.
Yet I bet high that it was a person — or persons — other than Joseph Robinette Biden.
This person or persons was… likely devoted to “progressive “ ideologies… largely consecrated to administration tricks and skulduggeries.
For example, the concealment of student loan delinquencies.
That concealment was done, evidently, for political advantage.
It Was All About the Election
Economics commentator, Mr. E.J. Antoni:
- Day after day, new data surfaces to expose yet another way the Biden administration lied to the public. We now know, for example, that millions of student loan borrowers were seriously delinquent on their debts, but former-president Biden’s Department of Education purposely hid this information until after the November election.
- This was part of the Democrat’s unconstitutional push to “forgive” student loans — euphemism for taxpayers bailing out borrowers.
I recall the controversy, yes. Please, sir, describe the administration’s misconduct:
- Even after the courts forced the Biden administration to restart student loan payments, the administration simply came up with new workarounds to sidestep the law. One of these was to appease the courts by technically requiring borrowers make payments but then also removing — or at least delaying — any consequences for failing to pay.
- This was accomplished by keeping under wraps how many borrowers were in default on their student loans. For the last year of the Biden administration, data on delinquencies was not made available to credit bureaus, so millions of borrowers made no payments, and their credit reports remained immaculate.
- As proof of their malicious compliance, the Department of Education even advertised to borrowers that failure to make payments would not be reported to credit bureaus.
Sly, sly dogs, these politicos are.
Perhaps even a tad swinish?
It Takes a Swindler to Catch a Swindler
Yet it often requires a swindler to nab a swindler.
Here some of the most accomplished swindlers in existence — the Federal Reserve — assisted in exposing the administration’s less adroit swindlers:
- The Federal Reserve Bank of New York and Equifax have confirmed that millions of student loans were seriously delinquent during the last year of the Biden administration, but this information was purposely hidden from taxpayers and voters.
In conclusion:
- For the sake of portraying an overly rosy picture in an election year, the last Democrat administration prompted millions of borrowers to fall behind on their debt payments, using the money instead to boost consumer spending figures in the leadup to a hotly contested presidential race where the economy was center stage…
- This whole situation wouldn’t have happened but for the Biden administration’s unconstitutional attempts to defraud taxpayers in exchange for the votes of young people, all while scandalously hiding evidence from the public.
We must conclude that governments, taking one with the other, are dishonest, self-interested extensions of individual men.
More Lies
Consider the previous administration’s mangling of unemployment data.
I refer you once again to Mr. Antoni:
- The Biden administration claimed to have added almost 400,000 jobs from July through September of last year, but new data released [last] week suggest none of those jobs ever existed…
- Month after month, the government bean-counters under former-president Biden published overly optimistic estimates for everything from job growth to the size of the economy, only to have those numbers routinely — and quietly — revised down later.
- Under Biden, these revisions were abnormal in magnitude and direction, being revised down with unusual frequency.
I am not one whit surprised. Yet I do not believe the previous administration uniquely perpetrated economic fabulism.
Deception and fibbery are merely in the nature of government.
And I am far from convinced the present administration offers an exception.
Yet I do believe the present administration is less likely to deceive and fib successfully.
That is not due to purity of purpose.
It is merely because the majority of mainstream media is hostile to the present administration — and implacably hostile to it in many instances.
The previous administration confronted no such handicap.
The referred-to media was very delighted to carry that administration’s water, as the phrase runs.
The Worst Failure of Civilized Man
Regardless of this motivation or that motivation, the cardinal fact remains:
Governments are — by their very nature — given to inveterate and eternal rascality.
As wrote the late Henry Louis Mencken:
- The natural tendency of every government is to grow steadily worse — that is, to grow more satisfactory to those who constitute it and less satisfactory to those who support it…
- Government is actually the worst failure of civilized man. There has never been a really good one, and even those that are most tolerable are arbitrary, criminal, grasping and unintelligent.
I remind you: The arbitrary, criminal, grasping and unintelligent governments are the most tolerable governments of Earth.
Imagine — then — the least tolerable governments of Earth.
Imagine it? You need not imagine it.
You are, after all — I presume — a subject of the United States government.
And you have suffered that government.
