Is Israel Ready to Quit?

  • The “Langley” Post…
  • David and Goliath…
  • Have you heard of the “Presidential Bypass”? It’s a legal loophole the rich use to keep their money. And though you might not know it, you can use the same exact loophole to slash your taxes. Legendary investor Robert Kiyosaki gives the details here.

Dear reader,

The Washington Post is often referred to — jestingly — as The Langley Post.

The moniker is in obvious reference to the Central Intelligence Agency’s Langley, Va. headquarters.

Many believe The Washington Post is an unofficial organ of the spy agency.

And so many believe that the Central Intelligence Agency communicates through The Washington Post.

What has The Langley Post — my apologies, The Washington Post — just communicated?

It has just communicated that the Israeli government seeks an “exit ramp.”

An exit ramp, that is, off the warpath it itself has blazed… and presently treads.

Iran, Israel and Regime Change

“I’m not sure it’s in our interest to fight until the regime is toppled,” one Israeli official informed Langley Post reporter David Ignatius.

The Israeli official continued:

  • Of course, we wish to topple the regime, but that’s not the only endgame… We don’t see anyone who can replace the regime… Once the major military targets have been eliminated, Israel would have achieved its goals. Iran won’t surrender, but it can send messages to accept a ceasefire with U.S. conditions.

Just so. Yet did not Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu specifically agitate for regime change?

He did in fact agitate for regime change. Here are his recent comments directed towards the Iranian people:

  • The moment of truth is getting closer. We do not seek to divide Iran. We seek to free Iran, to free it from the burden of tyranny and live with it in peace. But at the end of the day the freedom from tyranny, this freedom will be up to you…
  • Our joint action will create the conditions for the brave Iranian people to take their destiny into their own hands… Come to the streets, come out in your millions, to finish the job, to overthrow the regime of fear that has made your lives bitter.

Israel Isn’t Designed to Go the Distance

Yet now the Israeli government is tacking 180 degrees about. It is evidently willing to endure Iran’s devil regime.

The question is why? Why would mighty Israel indulge paper-tiger Iran?

Israel can pack a mighty wallop, it is true. Yet it is constructed to score an opening-round knockout.

It lacks the endurance to last the full 12 rounds. It simply lacks the capacity to wage extended warfare.

Hence the desired “exit ramp.”

Fortunately — at least from a certain perspective — the United States president can steer Israel onto the exit ramp.

It is true, the American has demanded Iran’s unconditional surrender. Yet he has also indicated that he is willing to walk away… and announce victory.

Trump the Pragmatist

Yesterday the president said that:

  • We could call it a tremendous success right now… The big risk of that war has been over for three days. We wiped them out in the first two days… We left some of the most important targets for later in case we need to do it, were not looking to do that if we don’t have to.

Meantime, a certain Mustafa Hyder Sayed is executive director of the Pakistan-China Institute. From whom:

  • Trump is quite a pragmatist. He would like to make a deal, declare that the US has achieved its goals, and conclude the war. He can redefine victory, say Khamenei has been killed, the armed forces destroyed, and end it.

That is precisely how the president dealt with the Houthis rebels who were menacing Red Sea shipping.

He ordered the United States Navy to scotch the Houthi menace. Yet the Houthis proved extraordinarily resilient to the American blows.

Eventually the president announced victory and sailed away.

I hazard he will announce similar victory over Iran and sail away once again.

I further hazard that Mr. Netanyahu will sail away with him in declared triumph.

The World Won’t Buy the Story

I do not know precisely when the victorious Jolly Roger will go running up the mainmast. Yet I hazard it will be sooner and not later.

But the world will not be foxed and deceived. It will penetrate the false front.

Assume that the Iranian governmental apparatus remains in place.

The world will  know that the United States and Israel were out for regime change… and that their dice roll came up snake eyes.

They failed to change the regime.

David and Goliath

The world will see that David Iran stood defiant against the American/Israeli Goliath — and by surviving, prevailed.

Why would Iran ever entertain negotiations with the United States again? After all, it has already seen them off.

And America’s regional allies can observe the smolders rising from its military facilities.

The United States pledged to defend us, they may argue. Yet events demonstrate that they cannot defend themselves against Iranian projectiles — much less us.

Why should we depend upon the Americans for our defense, they may ask?

Might they seek out fresh security arrangements — from a Russia, perhaps — or a China?

So many questions. Yet so few answers.

Before long, I suspect we will have our answers.
